I am a Reader in the Department of Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. I also hold a Visiting Scholar appointment in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, San Diego.
My research mainly involves the theoretical understanding and advancement of human memory (e.g., signal detection and dual process theories of recognition memory), and applied aspects of human memory. One line of such research is aimed at investigating and improving eyewitness identifications.
Other research interests include: The effects of bereavement on cognition; mechanisms of memory for social information; gender stereotypes on humour production; and replicability of menstrual cycle shift effects on attitudes and preferences.
